Financial Literacy Workshop

On March 1, 2018 at 4:00pm to 5:00pm we will have Mary A. Wheeler speak about financial literacy. This event will be beneficial on educating students about student loan debt and how to properly transition from college to adulthood in order to set themselves up for success.

Mary A. Wheeler is a student loan strategist and founder of Abundant Wealth Solutions. Growing up not knowing much about money, Mary attended college on a full ride via Sallie Mae accumulating $27K in student loan debt along with $3K in credit card debt. After being fed up, she created a plan to pay back all $30K of her debt and 96 days later, she was debt free. Her goal is to inspire others to take action, conquer their student loan debt, and begin living their financial lives in true abundance.

The College Board will offer a free October SAT registration, and a CSS Profile fee waiver to students affected by Hurricane Harvey.

We recognize this is an incredibly challenging time as you work to recover from the storm. We are taking this step to support students and families who are struggling as a result of the hurricane.

The free October SAT registration and CSS Profile fee waiver are for students who are experiencing hardship and/or displacement due to the hurricane and are in an area designated by FEMA. Please scroll down for the list of FEMA counties.

  • Students who are registered for the October SAT should call Customer Service to receive a refund of their registration and late fee. Students can register and contact Customer Service through September 27. To reach SAT Customer Service, please call 866.756.7346.
  • For the CSS Profile fee waiver, students should go to, complete their application, and the system will automatically apply eligibility rules. To reach CSS Profile Customer Service, please call 844.202.0524.

We hope this measure can ease some worry for students and help their college-going plans proceed as smoothly as possible. Our thoughts are with those affected by the recent hurricanes, and we hope for the safety of people in the affected areas.
